Job Title:Orchard and harvest worker.
Description;
Vernview Pty Ltd requires up to 5 hardworking, physically able and reliable workers to pick, prune and attend to general orchard maintenance at their 2 apple orchards in Launching Place Victoria. Harvest requires work from A frame ladders and picking into canvas bags (approx 15kgs when full) strapped to shoulders. This will involve stepping up and down and shifting the ladder to different locations as needed. Pruning will commence in May. The positions are outdoor work, and work is undertaken in a range of weather conditions including rain. Up to four months of work expected to commence in mid March. No previous experience is necessary. Candidates must be motivated and be able to learn quickly. Successful candidates will be required for 6am starts to work in a range of weather conditions, use pruning and picking equipment, work in a team with others, and have the ability to work quickly and with accuracy. Workers must have access to reliable transport (no close public transport to farms) and be available up to 7 days per week. Successful candidates would be offered employment on a casual basis under the 2009 Vernview Field Employee Collective Agreement.
