Marthakal Homeland Resource Centre (MHRC) is based at Elcho Island, an island off the coast of Arnhem Land. It is located at the southern end of the Wessel Islands group in the East Arnhem Region. The island's town community is the settlement of Galiwin'ku, located near the island's southern tip. Marthakal Homeland Resource Centre has a unique opportunity for a full time Registered Nurse to join their team on Elcho Island, NT. In this role, you will fly out to aboriginal communities, accompanied by other nurses, or aboriginal health workers and a doctor/specialist (depending on the need). Once there, you will assist the community residents with their health requirements. To be successful in this role, you will require relevant tertiary qualifications and must be a Registered Nurse with demonstrated experience in primary health, ideally in Indigenous communities. In addition, you will need the ability to obtain an Ochre Card (Working with Children) and must be prepared to obtain a Federal Police clearance. Due to the remote location, a high level of fitness for travel in light aircraft and a current manual driver's licence is required as you will be driving 4x4 manual vehicles.
