Drake Trades and Technical is proud to partner with a leading entity in the mining industry, currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Controls Engineer. This key role is nestled within the Capital Works Projects Team, focusing on a range of significant capital works projects across the site. This is a FIFO (Fly-In-Fly-Out) position based in Queensland, offering a unique chance to play a critical role in shaping major mining infrastructure initiatives.
Core Duties Include:
*Developing and overseeing project control systems and methodologies using Pronto, ensuring accurate tracking of project progress, budgets, and expenditures.
*Leading comprehensive contract management activities, from development and negotiation through to administration and closure, ensuring alignment with project goals and compliance with all legal and regulatory standards.
*Overseeing the commercial management of projects, including cost control, financial forecasting, and risk management, to safeguard the project's financial health.
*Collaborating seamlessly with project managers, engineers, and the procurement team to ensure integrated and successful project delivery from start to finish.
*Providing expert analysis and reporting on project performance, identifying variances, and recommending corrective actions to ensure project alignment.
*Facilitating robust communication and reporting mechanisms, keeping all stakeholders informed about project status, risks, and opportunities.
*Continually improving project controls processes by leveraging lessons learned and best practices to boost project efficiency and effectiveness.
What We're Looking For:
*A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
*A minimum of 10 years of experience in project controls within the mining, construction, or related sectors, with a significant focus on contract and commercial management.
*Demonstrated proficiency in project management software, especially Pronto, with a strong capability in financial tracking and reporting.
*A proven track record of successful project delivery, showcasing exceptional skills in planning, scheduling, estimating, and risk management.
