The Honeywell Software Centre (HSC) is a global software development center for Honeywell and recognized as a leader in the development of world class software products for industrial automation and building automation.
The Honeywell Software Centre based software development team is responsible for the development of Honeywell’s worldwide flagship industrial process automation system. We are seeking an IT Technician for our Sydney based Industrial Automation Software Development Test Lab. You will be either an IT, electrical or instrumentation technician with IT skills or recent engineering graduate with a passion to learn about computers, networks and IT. Ideally you’ll also be interested in learning about complex automation systems, software testing and quality. You’ll have great attention to detail and enjoy helping others, and would like to join a stable, well respected team of professional software engineers and prefer a role without extensive travel or shift work.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Maintain large Test Lab hardware and software which includes Virtualization, Servers, Workstations, Network switches and routers, controllers and other equipment.
- Configure physical and virtual test beds for Test Engineers to support testing of new software builds and releases.
- Develop test automation scripts and procedures.
- Learn software testing process and tools and conduct software tests.
Qualifications and Experience:
- IT, Electrical or instrument technician or recent graduate with bachelor degree in engineering
- Working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, Windows 2008 and Windows 7
- Working knowledge of Server and Workstation hardware
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Working knowledge of networking, Cisco switches, TCP/IP, firewall, WSUS, antivirus
- Working knowledge of PLCs, SCADA and/or DCS systems
- Practical wiring skills
- Knowledge of VMWare
- VB Script & Java Script knowledge
- Desired qualifications include NSW Electrical License, Certified Cisco Network Engineer, Microsoft Certified Engineer
