We have an opportunity for an Electrical Project Engineer to join a brownfield alliance project with a long standing customer in the Newcastle area. This is an 18 month contract to assist with the professional project management processes, project delivery capabilities and technical support of the alliance objectives, on site.
As Project Engineer – Electrical, you will work with the following responsibilities:
• Undertake the electrical design, estimating, procurement, installation and commissioning of projects
• Preparation of technical specifications for procurement, fabrication, construction, installation and commissioning
• Investigation, evaluate and select technical and economic designs to meet the scope of proposed projects in consultation with senior engineers
• Provide technical support for the business, including breakdown support
• Develop solutions that satisfy operations and maintenance
• Health, safety and environment – compliance with the Company’s HSE policies, procedures and requirements; support the continuous development of a Zero Harm safety culture in our workplace.
Job Requirements
In order to be successful in this role, the following credentials and experience are essential:
• An associated Engineering qualification with demonstrated electrical engineering experience within the Resources and Energy sector.
• Brownfield electrical engineering experience within steel production or a similar environment.
• Highly credible client relationship management skills to liaise with the customer and alliance partners and where required, coordinate the workload of operations and maintenance subcontractors and trades people.
• A professional management approach to meet quality, time and cost targets and seek assistance where required to meet these targets
• An active participation and leadership focus in the electrical engineering’s group of sharing of best practices in safety, business and technical experience
• In addition to your highly developed communication skills, a customer focus and the ability to build effective relationships and attention to detail are essential. The ability to organise and prioritise work and the ability to meet deadlines all in accordance with commitment to safety are also key criteria.
