As the Safety Health and Environment (SHE) Advisor, you will be responsible for providing guidance on safety and environmental matters to the business and will coordinate the implementation and maintenance of safety procedures, ensuring adherence to regulations and processes.
Reporting to the SHE Manager, you will:
• Liaise with other stakeholders to develop an integrated SHE management system
• Ensure compliance with incident reporting requirements and assist with and/or lead incident investigations
• Provide SHE advice in relation to processes, business rules, legislation and standards
• Coach employees, supervisors, managers and other personnel in relation to SHE processes
• Monitor and analyse SHE incident trend data and implement/recommend actions to counter trend
As the ideal applicant, you will have:
• Tertiary qualifications in Safety, Health, Environment or related discipline
• A strong background in safety, including experience with providing advice and coaching to various levels of an organisation
• The ability to negotiate with and influence stakeholders whilst maintaining key relationships
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel and Power Point
• Experience in similar high risk environments such as mining, construction, manufacturing or petro-chemical will be highly regarded
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.
International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
