Job Description:
BAE Systems Australia is a member of the ANZAC Alliance, an industry/government partnership which ensures the ongoing operation of the Royal Australian Navy's ANZAC Class of ships. As the Mechanical Systems Engineer - Platform, you will develop engineering change proposals and perform the duties of Engineering Point of Contact (EPOC) and Design Acceptance Representative (DAR) for engineering change projects. You will also provide technical advice and support to a variety of stakeholders in the ANZAC ship program including ship staff, defence personnel and other industry partners.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Developing, reviewing and progressing engineering project documentation.
• Ensuring engineering documentation adheres to engineering standards and quality system requirements.
• Providing technical advice on platform systems tasks and engineering activities.
• Processing engineering change requests.
• Providing assistance, liaison, technical advice and helpdesk support to Commonwealth stakeholders and the ANZAC Technical Support Network.
As the ideal applicant, you will have:
• Relevant marine engineering experience for example in main engines, powertrains, hydraulics, HVAC, mechanical systems, hull or structures.
• Tertiary qualifications and experience satisfying the requirements for membership to Engineers Australia.
Whilst not essential, knowledge of the Royal Australian Navy Technical Regulatory Framework, systems engineering, mechanical services, maintenance support, maintenance planning or aviation experience will be highly regarded. Candidates who already hold a security clearance level of Negative Vetting 1 will be at an advantage.
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.
