Based in Sydney,  New South Wales

We are currently seeking applications from senior quality specialists for a high level, newly created position within our Maritime business, located in Garden Island, New South Wales.
Reporting to the Head of Quality and Business Improvement (Maritime), the Quality Manager will proactively lead the quality team and achieve the business deliverables through effective management of the quality system.
In this role, you will assure delivery of high quality products and services through providing advice and consultation to the Lead Team and other stakeholders throughout the business.

As the Quality Manager, you will:

• Work with the quality function to arrange necessary training and development of core quality expertise throughout the business
• Promote quality education and awareness across the business
• Establish effective measures and metrics of quality performance for review by the management team
• Be accountable for all quality assurance and control activities through effective delegation to the quality team
• Promote a ‘Zero Defects' ethos across the business
• Build a team of high performing quality practitioners to meet the needs of the business
• Develop and deploy the agreed quality strategy and related processes within support services
• Lead the team to successfully deliver the agreed quality scope of work

As the ideal applicant, you will have:

• Knowledge of current ‘best practice' quality systems and, ideally, membership with a professional accreditation body
• For this particular role, lead quality auditor or management training will be highly regarded, as will a Naval background.
• As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.
• International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
• Significant experience within quality management, assurance and control, including experience in a lead or supervisory role
• Formal tertiary qualifications within quality or a related field (degree or diploma level preferred)
• Sound understanding of Quality Standards ISO9001 and configuration management
• Outstanding communication and influencing skills with the ability to relate to and develop a rapport with people at all levels of the organisation
