Job Description:

We need a creative, organised and experienced person to support Council’s role in the delivery of successful community events.
Community Events Officer
Part time - 19 hours per week
$56,028 to $65,293 per annum plus 9% superannuation pro rata
In this role you will interact widely across the community and Council to ensure community events are planned appropriately and conducted safely. Community events are an integral aspect of life in Golden Plains and you will be Council’s primary liaison with their organisers.
Applicants will have a track record in event management, demonstrating strong skills in planning, process and systems relevant to such a role.

Responsibilities:

• To provide support for the development and implementation of Council and community events within Golden Plains Shire;
• To build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including community organisations, businesses and government agencies that contribute to the successful delivery of events in Golden Plains Shire;
• To ensure Council events are conducted safely and in accordance with best practice event delivery and compliance;
• To coordinate effective events information and promotion between Council, residents, community groups, businesses and media;
• To maximise opportunities for effective promotion of events through accurate and timely dissemination of information to the community through appropriate channels.
