BHP Billiton Iron Ore is one of the world's leading suppliers of iron ore. The Company's operations comprise of an integrated system of seven inland mines, over 1,000 kilometres of rail and two separate port facilities; Nelson Point and Finucane Island at Port Hedland.
Reporting to the Superintendent Supply, within the Supply Excellence team your duties will include:
-Facilitating Performance Improvement to ensure that the Supply function is a global leader in its field:
-Apply logic to solve complex data problems, including analysing and linking large sets of data to identify key information and provide data assurance;
-Present complex concepts to varying audiences in a clear and structured manner, including delivery of training and presentations;
-Assist in developing a continuous improvement culture – recommend evidence-based initiatives to optimise performance against the Supply KPIs;
-Deliver business improvement projects to support the Supply Business Plan by managing small to medium projects with supervision; and
-Build and maintain constructive relationships with all levels of Supply and the broader business, focussing on integration points with Work Management, Finance and HR.
-Generating Performance Reporting to ensure that Supply can achieve its KPIs:
-Utilise tools to provide an understanding of performance within the Supply function; and
-Maintain training documentation and quick reference guides.
-Operating tools and reports for other areas within Supply and the business to support their operations and improve efficiency; and
-Assisting in delivering the Training Strategy to encourage the adoption of best practices.
Skills and Experience;
As the successful candidate you will possess the following:
-University Degree in an analytical discipline such as Business, Commerce, Finance or Engineering;
-Six sigma training an advantage;
-Training or experience in project management methodologies e.g. PRINCE2, ITIL an advantage;
-Excellent analytical skills including the ability to identify improvement opportunities;
-Proficiency across the core MS Office suite of applications (MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel). In particular, superior MS Excel skills including:
Pivot tables and charts;
-Advanced use of native functions; and
-Basic macro skills (Advanced Macro Skills an advantage).
-Knowledge of supply processes including procurement, contracting, inventory and distribution (preferred);
-Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) procurement processes and systems (SAP preferred);
-Strong interpersonal communication and business writing skills;
-Strong customer service focus; and
-Minimum of C class manual drivers licence.

You will be based in Perth, Western Australia, in the multi award winning office tower - 'City Square'.
